Major changes in NPS: There will be a big change in the National Pension System (NPS) from October 1, 2025. Non-government sector customers will be allowed to invest up to 100% in equity under the Multiple Scheme Framework (MSF). This means that from October 1, non-government NPS customers will be able to invest their entire pension amount in the stock market related schemes. Earlier equity investment limit was 75%. Additionally, like the government sector, private sector employees will be charged ₹ 18 for e-Pran kit for opening PRAN (permanent retirement account number) and ₹ 40 for Physical PRAN card. The annual maintenance fee will be ₹ 100 per account. Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and NPS Light for customers, PRAN opening fee and maintenance fee will be ₹ 15

Railway Ticket Booking: Another major change in implemented from October 1, 2025 is related to the railway. Under this, only people with Aadhaar verification will be able to book tickets during the first 15 minutes of opening the reservation. However, there will be no change in time or process for those who book tickets from computerized PRS counters. Apart from this, authorized railway agents will not be able to book tickets for the first 10 minutes of opening reservation. The purpose of these changes is to prevent fraud in railway ticket booking so that the right users can benefit.

Online Gaming: By taking a tough stance on the online gaming industry, the government has approved the online gaming bill 2025, which will be applicable from October 1. Its purpose is to prevent real money gaming addiction and economic losses from it. Its purpose is also to promote e-sports. Violations may be imprisoned for up to three years and a fine of ₹ 1 crore, while promoters may be imprisoned for up to two years and a fine of up to ₹ 50 lakh.

LPG Cylinder: From October 1, the prices of LPG cylinder are going to be a big change. This change will directly affect the budget of the kitchen. Earlier, oil marketing companies had amended the price of a 19 kg gas cylinder, while there was no change in the price of 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder. It was last amended on 8 April 2025 in other cities including Delhi-Mumbai, Kolkata-Chennai. In addition, the prices of ATF, CNG and PNG may also change.

Large changes in UPI: Large changes will be applicable in Unified Payments Interface (UPI) from October 1. These new changes being implemented by NPCI will affect PhonePe, Google Pay and Paytm users. The NPCI can remove the Peer-to-Pier (P2P) transaction, which is one of the most used UPI features. According to a circular from July 29, this feature will be removed from UPI apps from October 1, 2025 to strengthen the safety of users and prevent financial fraud.
