News India Live, Digital Desk: world famous braj Lathmar Holi Celebration today (25 February 2026) at the abode of Kanha’s beloved Shriji (Radharani). Rain It is being celebrated with full enthusiasm. Lakhs of devotees from India and abroad have reached Barsana to see this amazing sight. Considering the crowd pressure and security, the Mathura administration has converted the entire area into a cantonment and has issued strict instructions for traffic.
What is today’s programme?
As per tradition, today ‘Huriyare’ (men) of Nandgaon will reach Barsana to play Holi.
Society singing: In the afternoon, the Hurriyars of Nandgaon will be welcomed at the yellow pond.
Splash of colors: Colors will start showering from Ladli Ji Temple in the evening.
Clash of sticks: Lathmar Holi will start from around 4:30 pm in Rangili Gali, where the Gopis of Barsana will shower sticks on the Huriyars of Nandgaon and the men will defend themselves with shields.
Strict security arrangements (Security Alert)
In view of the huge crowd, the administration has issued ‘high alert’:
Drone surveillance: The entire Barsana town and surrounding roads are being monitored through drone cameras.
Watch Tower: More than 50 watch towers have been built at key locations.
Police in plain clothes: ‘Anti Romeo Squad’ and women policemen in plain clothes have been deployed for the safety of women.
Lost and Found Centre: Help desks have been set up at various places for those lost in the crowd.
Traffic Advisory: Route Changes
For the convenience of devotees, entry of heavy vehicles has been prohibited on the Mathura-Barsana road:
Govardhan-Barsana route: Only passing vehicles are allowed on this route.
No Entry Zone: Entry of any type of vehicle (even two-wheeler) is prohibited within Barsana town.
Parking Arrangement: 15 large parking lots have been created outside the town. Devotees will have to proceed from there on foot or by e-rickshaw.
Special instructions for devotees
Avoid crowds: The administration has appealed that the elderly and children should avoid going to very crowded areas.
Health Camp: In view of the heat and humidity, health camps and ambulances have been arranged at various places.
Beware of pickpockets: Take care of your valuables to avoid people taking advantage of the crowd to steal.
