News India Live, Digital Desk: The election results of Bihar 2025 have surprised many people. Despite 20 years of anti-incumbency, the NDA won easily under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. The Grand Alliance, which was expecting a close contest, just kept watching. But has this victory really come suddenly? Or had its story been written long ago, in some other electoral field? There is discussion in political circles that the foundation of this victory of Bihar was actually laid in the Haryana elections itself.

This is not an isolated victory, but part of a pattern. Remember the Haryana elections, where no one expected an easy victory of BJP, but when the results came, everyone was shocked. The opposition was accused of letting the won game slip away. The same game was again seen in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Just a few months after not getting the expected results in the Lok Sabha, the NDA made such a comeback in these states that the opposition was surprised.

Where did the opposition go wrong?

The result of Bihar is a big lesson for the opposition. The little hope that was built after the Lok Sabha elections has now been shattered. It seems that the opposition is not able to understand the strategy of NDA. Elections from Haryana to Bihar show that the NDA cleverly sensed the situation and made its moves, while the opposition parties remained stuck in their old ways.

NDA’s caste equation continues in Bihar

This time NDA paid a lot of attention to its social engineering in Bihar. By including Chirag Paswan and Upendra Kushwaha, NDA consolidated the vote bank which was scattered in 2020. The parties of these two leaders together got about 7% votes last time. Even though Mukesh Sahni went with the Grand Alliance this time, Paswan and Kushwaha more than compensated for his shortcomings. The reports of rift between BJP-JD(U) and JD(U)-LJP after the 2020 elections also proved to be ineffective this time.

Overall, the election which was supposed to be a close contest, turned into a one-sided victory. This result shows that the moves on the electoral chessboard were made long ago and the opposition completely failed to understand the game.
