News India Live, Digital Desk: Police action against criminals continues in Uttar Pradesh. For the last few days, there have been continuous reports of encounters from different districts of the state. After Deoria, Hapur and Ballia, now a direct encounter has taken place between police and criminals in Badaun, in which two cow smugglers have been shot.
This incident took place in dense forests near Kakrala town of Alapur police station area of Badaun. The police had received information from an informer that some cow smugglers were hiding in the forest planning to carry out some major incident. As soon as the information was received, the police team started the siege.

According to the police, when they signaled the suspects to stop, they started firing directly at the police team. To save their lives, the police also retaliated, in which two smugglers were shot in their legs and fell down after getting injured.
Who are the arrested accused?
The two injured cow smugglers have been identified as Abrar and Bhure, residents of Kakrala. Police have recovered two illegal pistols, live cartridges, one spent cartridge and some tools used for cow slaughter from their possession. Police say that both of them are vicious criminals and many cases are already registered against them. After being injured, both of them have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
Flood of encounters in UP since last few days
This incident of Badaun is not an isolated one. In the last 72 hours, UP Police has conducted spontaneous encounters in many districts:
- Deoria: Here, criminal Ramashankar Yadav, carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, was killed in an encounter.
- Hapur: Here too, a policeman was injured and a smuggler was shot in an encounter with cow smugglers.
- Baliya: The police arrested a vicious robber after an encounter, who was shot in the leg.
These continuous encounters show that the police is in no mood to give any kind of leniency to the criminals under the Yogi government. This “Operation Clean” of the police is expected to continue further.
