The Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand has taken a big step to bring the most backward and extremely poor families of the state into the mainstream. State Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh officially unveiled the ‘Jharkhand Inclusive Livelihood Scheme’ (JH-SAY) during a special program on Friday. The main objective of this scheme is to bring revolutionary improvements in the social and economic condition of the very poor families of the state and to connect them with new means of employment and livelihood.
Launching the scheme, Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh reiterated the government’s commitment. He said that our government is fully committed to the upliftment of the poor families standing at the last rung of the state. We are working day and night with this vision that no poor family is left behind in this race of development. This new scheme launched today will definitely prove to be a milestone in raising the standard of living of the very poor families of the state.
16,000 families will get benefits in the first phase, total target of 25 thousand
The Rural Development Minister shared another big thing while addressing the program. He said that Jharkhand’s already running ‘Ati Garib Utthan Yojana’ (UPJ) has proved to be a very successful model, which has now got huge recognition at the national level also. Taking this success forward, a new scheme (JH-SAY) has been prepared.
Giving information about the figures, he said that in the initial phase, 16,000 very poor families of the state are being included under the scope of this new scheme. At the same time, in the coming days, by expanding the scheme, 9,000 more families will be added to it, due to which the total number of beneficiaries will reach 25,000 families.
Checks worth more than Rs 44 crore issued for 6 districts
This grand launching program was organized under the joint aegis of ‘Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society’ (JSLPS) and ‘The Naz Institute’. To quickly implement the scheme on the ground, Minister Deepika Pandey Singh also distributed huge financial checks worth more than Rs 44 crore for six identified districts of the state during the program itself. This amount will be used to make poor families self-reliant at the grassroots level and develop their means of livelihood.
