Bank Holidays December 2025: The year 2025 is now at its last stage. The month of December is not only a time of harsh cold and waiting for the New Year, but also of many holidays. If you have any important work related to the bank like making a draft, getting the loan file passed or KYC update pending, then stop being lazy now.
The Reserve Bank (RBI) holiday list shows that overall in December 18 days There may be times when the functioning of banks will come to a standstill in different parts of the country. This also includes Sunday and Saturday holidays. So that your precious time is not wasted and you do not return from the bank door, take a look at this list.
holidays from the beginning
December itself is beginning with holidays. 1 December (Monday) Banks will remain closed in Arunachal Pradesh on 25th due to ‘Indigenous Faith Day’. Whereas, if you are in Goa, then 3 December (Wednesday) Due to the festival of St. Francis Xavier, banks there will be found locked.
There will be closure here in the middle of the month
Many local festivals are celebrated in the North-Eastern states in December.
- 12 December (Friday): Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma Day will be celebrated in Meghalaya, due to which banks there will remain closed.
- 18 December (Thursday): People of Chhattisgarh and Meghalaya will celebrate Guru Ghasidas Jayanti, hence there will be a holiday there.
- 19 December (Friday): ‘Goa Liberation Day’ will be celebrated in Goa, which means banks will be closed there again.
Christmas and last days of the year
The last week of the month is going to be the busiest.
- 24 December: Banks will remain closed in Meghalaya and Mizoram a day before Christmas.
- 25 December (Thursday): Banks are closed throughout the country (most states) on the occasion of Christmas. This is a big holiday.
- 26 December: Christmas celebrations will continue in Meghalaya, Mizoram and Telangana on the next day i.e. Friday, while ‘Shaheed Udham Singh Jayanti’ will be a holiday in Haryana.
- 27 December (Saturday): There will be a bank holiday in Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti. (Note: This may also be the fourth Saturday, so banks will be closed anyway).
- 30-31 December: Even at the end of the year, there is a holiday on 30th in Meghalaya and Sikkim, while banks in Mizoram and Manipur will remain closed on 31st for ‘New Year’s Eve’ fun.

Apart from these festivals as usual in banks:
- There will be holiday on all Sundays.
- Banks will remain closed on the second and fourth Saturday of the month. (Note: November 29, 2025 was the fifth Saturday, so banks were open, but check the math in December).

Even though there are more holidays, there is no need to panic. Net banking, mobile app and UPI will work as usual. ATMs will also be open for withdrawing cash. But, for work like operating the locker or check clearance, leave the house only keeping in mind the dates given above.
