There has been a news for crores of members of the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) that can end their years old headache forever. A small mistake in PF account, a difference of one day in the date of birth, or the difference of a letter in the father’s name … and your hard earned money was stuck. To rectify these small mistakes, circling offices, filling the Joint Declaration Form and waiting for months, it was a common story of every PF holder.
but not anymore! EPFO has made the process of linking the Aadhaar and UAN and improving the details of the profile by solving this biggest problem of employees. The government has released a new standard operating procedure (SOP), so that all these improvements will now be done online and very fast.

Will the Joint Declaration Form end completely?
It is important to note that this new feature is for minor and moderate reforms. In cases of some very complex or major changes, where there is a huge difference in documents, there may still be a ‘joint declaration form’. But more than 95% of cases are now expected to be settled by this new online process.
This is a very big and commendable step taken by EPFO towards Ease of Living ‘Ease of Living, which will directly benefit the employees of crores of organized sector of the country.
