The biggest gift from North Eastern Railway: Trains will now run on four lines between Burhwal and Gonda, making travel much easier ‘Fourth’ line will be laid for the first time on the Barabanki-Gorakhpur rail route; Survey work completed, now trains will not stop at Outer

Indian Railways is continuously making major changes in its infrastructure to make the journey of railway passengers in Uttar Pradesh more convenient, faster and punctual. In this series, a very good news has come out regarding one of the busiest and important routes of North Eastern Railway (NER) – Barabanki to Gorakhpur rail route. Crores of passengers traveling on this route are now going to get rid of the hassle of trains and the problem of standing for hours outside the stations forever.

Trains will run on 4 lines for the first time; survey work completed

Preparations have now been completed to completely upgrade the railway track between Barabanki and Gorakhpur and convert it into ‘four-lane’ (four lines). At present, the work of laying the third railway line on an important part of this route i.e. from Burhwal to Gonda Kachehri station is going on at a very fast pace.

But the railway administration was not limited only to the third line, but keeping in mind the future increasing population and number of trains, it has also approved the plan to lay the fourth railway line. The initial survey work that was being done to ground this fourth line has now been successfully completed.

The busiest and lifeline route of North Eastern Railway

You can easily understand the importance of this railway section and the major changes brought about by this new project from the table given below:

What are the responsible officers saying?

Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Eastern Railway, Sumit Kumar has shared the latest information with the media regarding the progress of this historic project.

According to CPRO Sumit Kumar: > “The Barabanki-Gorakhpur railway section is a very backbone route for the North Eastern Railway. To reduce the heavy traffic pressure on this route, the preliminary survey for laying the fourth line has been completely completed. It is expected that soon after getting the necessary approvals from the higher level, the construction work of laying the fourth line will also be started at the ground level. After the construction of four tracks, the operation of trains on this entire route and their punctuality will be more accurate and punctual than before. It will be easy.”

How will common passengers get relief?

After the commissioning of four lines on this route, the biggest and direct benefit will be to the general public and employed passengers. It is often seen that local passenger and goods trains are stopped for hours at outer or small stations to allow VIP or express trains to pass.

When four tracks are available on this route, separate lines can be used for express, passenger and goods trains. This will not only increase the speed of trains, but will also reduce the chances of accidents and save precious time for people traveling from Eastern Uttar Pradesh to Lucknow-Delhi.
