Teacher recruitment examination in Uttar Pradesh postponed: TGT-PGT candidate disappointed, know when will the exams be done now?

Millions of youth, who are dreaming of becoming a government teacher in Uttar Pradesh, have once again suffered a setback. The much -awaited written examination for the posts of trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) (TGT) and PGT (PGT) has been postponed for the present. There has been an atmosphere of uncertainty in the minds of the candidates about when these exams will be held now.

Actually, the main reason for this adjournment is the slow process of formation of ‘Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission’ in the state. The new Education Services Selection Commission is going to conduct these recruitment examinations, but there is a delay in appointment and taking charge of the members of the Commission. These important examinations will not be possible until this commission is fully functional.

Let us tell you that the application process for these recruitments started in August 2022. More than 13 lakh candidates had applied for a total of 4,163 posts from all over the country (and mainly from UP). Earlier, ‘Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Services Selection Board’ had accepted these applications, but did not announce any fixed date for the written examination. Now this board does not formally exist.

Now all this is on the new education service selection commission. New announcements are awaited from its headquarters in Prayagraj. As soon as the Commission is fully formed and active, only new dates of these exams will be announced. However, this uncertainty has raised the concern of millions of young candidates, who have been waiting for the exam for a long time.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had instructed to speed up the recruitment processes pending in various departments and distribute appointment letters as soon as possible. After the formation of the Education Services Selection Commission, it is expected that the recruitment of not only TGT and PGT but also other pending teachers will be completed soon, so that the youth can get employment and the education system can be strengthened.
