News India Live, Digital Desk: Uproar Over Poem given Go With Kanwad: An incident has come to light from Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh which has created a huge uproar on social media and has entangled a teacher in a big controversy. A poem is becoming increasingly viral on social media, which is titled “Don’t go with Kavad.” For this poem, the teacher of Westpur Primary School in Kaushambi is facing serious criticism. People have alleged that this poem hurts their religious sentiments.

Actually, the whole matter came to light when this poem reached some journalists, after which they posted it on social media. Kavita’s lyrics ‘Kavad Mat Jana’ immediately attracted the attention of the people, and it became viral on seeing it. A large number of social media users started criticizing the teacher, calling it against the sentiments of Hindus. People are accusing him of being against a particular religion and ridiculing religious customs. Kavad Yatra is a sacred journey of Hinduism, in which devotees of Lord Shiva walk on foot and bring holy water. In such a situation, this poem is directly considered to be an attack on religious sentiments.

It is being told in the reports of local media that this poem was posted by the teacher on her social media account in the month of Sawan, 2023 last year. This poem was probably focused on inconveniences or traffic disruptions during the Kavad Yatra. However, a year later it is now again in discussion and has become a cause of widespread anger. Religious leaders and general public have reacted strongly to this, and many people are demanding action against the teacher.

This incident also explains how any material posted on social media, even if it is old, can again give rise to big controversy by going viral. In this era of religious sensitivity, the need to take even more precautions on public posting has been emphasized, especially on subjects that are associated with the sentiments of a community. The Education Department has taken cognizance in this matter, and after investigation, appropriate action is likely to be taken against the teacher.
