If they are elected, this will be their first term in Parliament. Elections for six Rajya Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu will be held on June 19, in which DMK is expected to get four seats and AIADMK two seats on the basis of existing legislative strength.

With this development, Kamal Haasan has joined the growing list of film personalities who entered parliamentary politics from cinema in Tamil Nadu.
