News India Live, Digital Desk: Meteorological Department: People in Jharkhand have now started feeling mild heat during the day and sudden severe cold at night. The weather has taken such a turn that within the last 24 hours the minimum temperature in the state has fallen drastically by 5 degrees Celsius. Especially in the capital Ranchi and surrounding areas, shivering has increased due to falling night temperature and people have taken out warm clothes and blankets from the shelves.

According to the Meteorological Department, this is just the beginning. The severity of winter is going to increase further in the coming days.

Why did this sudden change in weather happen?

Scientists of Ranchi Meteorological Center said that till now the sky was cloudy, due to which the earth’s heat was not able to go back into the atmosphere. But now as the sky has cleared and cold and dry winds from the north-west are entering Jharkhand, the temperature has started falling rapidly.

Where is it so cold?

A drop in night temperature has been recorded in almost all the districts of the state.

  • Khunti was the coldest: On Tuesday, the minimum temperature of Khunti was recorded at 13.4 degrees Celsius, which was the lowest in the state.
  • The temperature also dropped in Ranchi: The minimum temperature of the capital Ranchi also reached close to 15 degrees Celsius, which is below normal.
  • Other districts: In districts like Lohardaga, Deoghar and Gumla, considerable cold was also felt at night.

How will the situation be in future?

The Meteorological Department has predicted that this cold period will continue for the next few days.

  • The night temperature may drop further by 2 to 3 degrees in the next 2 to 3 days.
  • Mist and fog can be seen at many places in the morning.
  • There will be some relief from sunlight during the day, but in the evening the effect of cold will start appearing again.

In view of this change in weather, doctors have especially advised children and the elderly to be more careful. While going out of the house in the morning and evening, it is advised to wear warm clothes and avoid consuming cold things.
