Due to the dust storm which moved at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour, at some places the walls of houses collapsed, while at some places hundreds of trees and electric poles were uprooted. In this natural disaster, a woman died in Sitapur, while many people were injured. Besides, cattle have also been damaged on a large scale.

Lucknow: After bad weather alert, darkness prevailed, lights went off

The storm and light showers in the capital Lucknow on Monday night definitely gave some relief to the people from the scorching heat, but at the same time the electricity system of the city completely collapsed.

Just a quarter of an hour later, at 11.15 pm, a strong storm suddenly started.

  • Electricity stopped in these areas: Due to the storm, electricity supply to a large area including Gomtinagar, Chinhat, Gomtinagar Extension, Arjunganj, Indira Nagar, Ayodhya Road and Uttaretiya was completely disrupted. At many places, tree branches broke and fell on the wires, due to which electricity could not be restored overnight even after the weather cleared.

  • Temperature condition: Before this storm and rain, the maximum temperature of the city on Monday was 2.1 degrees Celsius more than normal i.e. 42.3°C was recorded, while the minimum temperature was 3.1 degrees above normal. 28.6°C Remained.

Sitapur: Accident due to collapse of under construction wall, one dead and 4 injured

The most painful form of the storm was seen in Pisawan area of ​​Sitapur. In Mau Khurd village here, a person named Sakil was sleeping inside the house with his family on Monday night, when due to a strong storm, the wall of an under construction house suddenly collapsed.

Family buried under debris: The debris of the wall fell directly on the sleeping family, under which Sakil, his wife Kismat Jahan and three children (Aman Baig, Ahad Baig and Samad Baig) were buried. After a lot of effort, the villagers took everyone out and took them to the Community Health Center (CHC). There the doctors declared Kismat Jahan dead. Since Sakil’s condition is serious, he has been referred to the district hospital, while the children are undergoing treatment.

Gonda: Hundred year old banyan tree falls, cattle die and railway route disrupted

The storm has also caused severe devastation in Gonda district. There has been extensive damage to roads, electrical infrastructure as well as railway tracks.

1. Banyan tree fell on cattle in rural area

In Harkhapur (Birsinghpur Balak Purva) of Kotwali Dehat area, a banyan tree more than a hundred years old suddenly fell to the ground. About one and a half dozen cattle were tied under this tree. A buffalo and a cow of two brothers named Ganga Ram and Hari Shankar died on the spot after being hit by the tree, while many other cattle were seriously injured.

2. Hundreds of poles fell, traffic came to a standstill

Hundreds of big trees and poles including electric transformers were uprooted due to the storm in Belsar, Nawabganj and Wazirganj areas. Due to falling of trees on the road near Chandpur Vijayanagar on Belsar-Gonda road, the road was completely closed, due to which people had to walk several kilometers.

3. Goods train stood still for 8 hours due to falling of trees on the railway track

Goods train (number 12C) going from Mankapur to Ayodhya Dham had to be stopped midway due to heavy trees falling on the railway track near Kishundaspur and Parvati villages of Nawabganj area. According to Santosh Tripathi, Station Master of Katra Railway Station, due to this accident which happened at 11:30 pm on Monday night, the goods train stopped at about stood on the track for 8 hours And till Tuesday morning the work of normalizing the rail traffic was going on.
