According to the Meteorological Department, after snowfall in the mountains, cold and dry winds are rapidly coming towards the plains from the north-west direction. These winds reach Jharkhand and are increasing the cold here. Sunshine may provide some relief during the day, but the effect of cold is being felt quite acutely in the morning and at night. A significant decline has been observed in the minimum temperature in most of the districts of the state including the capital Ranchi.

Meteorological department’s alert, need to be careful

In view of this changing weather pattern, the Meteorological Center (IMD) has issued a warning of cold wave in many parts of the state for the next few days. This means that the cold may increase further in the coming days. People have been advised to take necessary precautions to avoid cold.

There is a need to take special care of children and the elderly especially in this season, because the drop in temperature has the biggest impact on their health.
