Under the chairmanship of Honorable Leader of the Legislative Council Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya, instructions were given to the officials on the issues raised in the House related to basic, secondary and higher education in the Legislative Council Room No. 77. It is in full action mode to make the education system of the state more strong and transparent.
Keshav Prasad Maurya has directed all the senior officials of the Education Department to form a joint WhatsApp Group of the Leader of Legislative Opposition and all the members of the Legislative Council. The main objective of this group is to convey various public welfare schemes run by the government and official orders issued from time to time directly to the honorable members. This will bring clarity in the implementation of schemes and exchange of information will be possible at a faster pace.
On this order of Keshav Prasad Maurya, Leader of Legislative Opposition Shri Lal Bihari Yadav not only gave his full consent, but also expressed his gratitude to the Leader of the House for this step taken towards the dignity of the House and information transparency.
Whatever discrepancies there are in the Basic and Secondary Education Department, they should be removed as soon as possible. He also talked about taking swift action on the pending problems of teachers and pension related matters. Complaints should be resolved promptly and the concerned members should also be informed so that coordination can be maintained between the government and public representatives.
Instructions have also been given to improve the learning environment in the universities and degree colleges of the state. Discussing issues related to higher education, Maurya said that research and implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP) should be expedited. He warned officials to end the old culture of hanging files and focus on ‘delivery’.
On this occasion, Minister of State for Higher Education Smt. Rajni Tiwari, Leader of Opposition Legislative Council including 9 members (MLC) and senior officials of the Education Department were present.
