News India Live, Digital Desk: The battle between ‘Didi’ versus ‘Adhir’ is well known in the politics of West Bengal, but now Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also entered this conflict. Firebrand Congress leader and former Lok Sabha MP Adhir Ranjan Choudhary has made a sensational claim while weighing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Mamata Banerjee on the same scale. This statement of Adhir Ranjan has once again brought the ruckus within the opposition unity (INDIA Alliance) to the crossroads.
Kejriwal compared with Mamata Banerjee’s ‘model’
Taking a dig at the recent political developments, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary said that just as Mamata Banerjee did the politics of eliminating the opposition in Bengal, the same formula now seems to be applicable to the Aam Aadmi Party as well. He alleged that all the seven MPs of Aam Aadmi Party are now completely dancing to the tune of BJP. Adhir clearly indicated that there is some secret agreement going on behind the scenes between ‘AAP’ and ‘BJP’, which he termed as “Didi’s old game”.
The allegation of “BJP’s B-team” got new air.
Adopting an attacking stance, the Congress leader said that Kejriwal’s politics has always been beneficial to the BJP. He argued that Mamata Banerjee also weakened Congress by adopting similar tactics in the past and now Kejriwal is also following the same footsteps. Chaudhary said sarcastically, “All seven MPs of Kejriwal have actually joined the BJP, only the formal announcement is yet to be made.” His statement has created a stir in the political circles, because there is already a tussle going on in Delhi and Punjab regarding coordination between Congress and AAP.
Will the rift in the opposition alliance increase?
This attack by Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has come at a time when the opposition parties are claiming to be united. However, Chaudhary has been aggressive towards Mamata Banerjee and Kejriwal from the beginning. Political analysts believe that this statement of Adhir Ranjan is the voice of that faction of Congress in Delhi politics which is against any kind of agreement with Aam Aadmi Party. Now it remains to be seen how the Aam Aadmi Party responds to this sharp attack and whether this will further complicate the knots of the ‘India’ alliance.
