News India Live, Digital Desk: Judicial Dignity: Recently, the incident that took place in the premises of the Supreme Court has shocked many people. A lawyer Sanjeev Kumar, a Justice B.R. Threw shoes towards Gawai. This is a case that has questioned the dignity of the judiciary. The President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has now expressed concern over this incident. He believes that due to social media, things are being exaggerated and due to this such incidents are happening.

The SCBA president says that the lawyer named Sanjeev Kumar who raised a shoe on Justice Gawai is doing this after being socially provoked. The chairman said in clear terms that lawyer Sanjeev Kumar, Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice were trying to discredit Gawai, especially with the matters of a particular bench. He held social media the main guilty of all this and said that the concocted allegations spread by some people on such platforms increase things excessively, the result of which sometimes gets so wrong.

Advocate Sanjeev Kumar has not apologized for this incident. He said that whatever he has written and done, he has no regrets on it. In response to an contempt case filed in the Delhi High Court, he has described himself as innocent and said that he was doing this in ‘public interest’. The president of the Supreme Court Bar Association believes that people are getting confused due to the ideas and news spread without investigation on social media and judicial institutions are also suffering. This incident has once again sparked a debate as to whether the freedom on social media is being misused, especially when it is about judicial dignity.
