News India Live, Digital Desk: With the preparation of ground for Lok Sabha elections 2026, the war of words has intensified in the country’s politics. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has made the most direct and sharpest attack so far on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Describing RSS as the “root of every trouble” in the country, he has demanded a ban on it, which has caused a major upheaval in national politics.
“RSS is the real poison”
The Congress President was seen in his full glory while addressing an election rally. He said that BJP is just a mask, the real ideology of running the country and spreading hatred is that of RSS.
Kharge said, “Whatever troubles there are in the country, be it unemployment, inflation, or the growing division in the society, RSS is at the root of all these. These people speak sweetly, but are poisonous from within. If the country has to be saved, then this poison will have to be eliminated, RSS will have to be banned.”
Directly attacked PM Modi, asked- “What is your contribution?”
Kharge did not stop here. He directly targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and questioned his and RSS’s contribution to the country’s independence.
The Congress President roared and said, “You (Modi ji) demand an account of 55 years from the Congress. I ask you, what was the contribution of you and your ideology (RSS) in liberating the country? Was anyone from your family hanged in the freedom struggle? Did anyone go to jail? Hey, when we were fighting for the country, you people were standing with the British!”
He further said that the Congress Party has made sacrifices for the independence of the country, from Mahatma Gandhi to Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, our leaders gave their lives for the country. “We are not people afraid of death,” Kharge said.
What is the meaning of this statement?
This statement of Mallikarjun Kharge is clearly pointing towards the changed strategy of Congress. Now instead of being defensive, Congress has come into direct aggressive mode and is directly attacking the ideological source of BJP, i.e. RSS.
- Direct fight of ideology: Congress is now seeing BJP not just as a political party but as a representative of a particular ideology and is attacking that ideology.
- Raising emotional and historical issues: By mentioning the freedom struggle and sacrifices, Kharge is trying to connect emotionally with the people of the country.
After this very aggressive statement of Kharge, there is sure to be a sharp reaction from BJP also. This will definitely heat up the country’s politics more in the coming days, where the fight will now be not just on plans and development claims, but also on ideology and history.
