News India Live, Digital Desk: After the voting held on 23rd February, the decision of the people of the capital is coming out today. This time in Ranchi 43.43% Voting was recorded, which was the lowest in the state.

1. Latest Mayor Seat Trends

As per the trends as of 2:30 pm:

Roshni Khalkho (BJP supported): close to 12,000 to 13,000 votes Leading by a huge margin. He has maintained his lead since the initial rounds.

Rama Khalkho (Congress supported): Former mayor Rama Khalkho is currently running in second place and is far behind.

Tasleem Ansari: Remain in third place.

2. Ward Councilors Results (Ward-Wise Winners/Leads)

Following are the results and trends of several of the 53 wards of Ranchi Municipal Corporation:

Ward 1: Nakul Tirkey (Edge)

Ward 13: Pawan Tirkey (victory almost certain)

Ward 19: Geeta Kumari (Winning/Leading)

Ward 25: Sushma Raj (edge)

Ward 37: Parmeshwar Singh (Edge)

Ward 38: Avadhesh Thakur (Winning/Leading)

Ward 48: Amit Minj (edge)

Ward 49: Jameela Khatun (edge)

Note: There are reports of Sanjeev Vijayvargiya’s nephew Piyush Vijayvargiya losing the elections in Ranchi, which is considered a big upset.

3. Counting Center and Security

place: A counting center has been set up in the premises of Pandara Market Committee, Ranchi.

Process: Counting of votes is being done through ballot paper, so it may take time till evening or late night to get the final result.

Commissioner’s monitoring: District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner (DC) himself is monitoring the entire process by being present at the counting venue.

4. Major election issues

In this election, the people of Ranchi had made traffic jam, drainage, regular water supply and waste management the main issues. Roshni Khalkho’s lead in the race for the post of Mayor shows that voters are more inclined towards promises of development.
