RBI Update: A new 100 rupee note will come soon in your pocket

News India Live, Digital Desk: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to issue new notes of 100 rupees, taking an important step. This news is for all those who were eagerly waiting to see the new avatar of Indian currency!

What is special in the new 100 rupee note?

This new note will be of lavender (light purple) color and its most important thing is that it will have a beautiful picture of the UNESCO World Heritage Site ‘Rani Ki Vav’ located in Patan, Gujarat. This picture reflects our rich cultural heritage. However, its size will be similar to the current 100 rupee note, that is, you will not have much difficulty in identifying it.

Mahatma Gandhi’s picture will be in the middle as usual, which is our identity. The symbol of Ashoka Pillar on the right and then Governor Urjit R.K. Patel will be signed. On the left side of the note, ‘100’ will be written in Devanagari and the language panel will also be present, in which the value of 100 rupees will be written in Indian languages.

What will happen to old notes? Will they still run?

It is very important to know that even after the new notes are issued, all the current 100 rupees notes will be valid as before. So there is no need to panic or get upset. The 100 rupees old notes you have, they will run indiscriminately in the market and you can use them. Despite the increase in cashless transactions, this decision has been taken with the aim of ensuring adequate availability of notes and improving circulation.

Why was there a delay earlier?

The RBI had already indicated that it would soon issue new notes of 100 rupees. Earlier there was something delayed, due to which it was said that by changing the size of these new notes, the ATM would have to be re -calibrated, which is a big and expensive work. But now, since the size of the new note is similar to the old, there will be no special need to calibrate the ATM. Notes of this new series will also come under Mahatma Gandhi (new) series.

So now you will soon see a new, beautiful 100 rupee note of lavender color in your pocket! This will not only give a new look to our currency, but it will also have a beautiful part of our historical heritage.
