A very serious case that compromises the safety of girl students has come to light from Shivkuti police station area of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Here, two girl students, who were preparing for competitive examinations while staying in a lodge, were brutally beaten, molested and harassed. It is alleged that the son of the lodge owner tried to forcefully enter the room of the girl students under the influence of alcohol late at night and when they protested, they grabbed their hair and beat them mercilessly.
The police responded promptly to the complaint lodged by the victim student and registered a case against the accused and arrested him, however, the accused later got bail from the court.
The student had stopped for document verification after passing the SSC exam.
The 27-year-old victim, originally from Amethi, said that she was preparing for competitive examinations by taking a room on rent in a lodge located at Shankarghat in Shivkuti. He has recently passed SSC Junior Assistant examination. These days the process of document verification was going on, due to which she was staying in the lodge room.
Was sending dirty messages on phone for 10 days
The student alleges that the lodge owner’s son Shubham Dwivedi was mentally harassing her by making continuous calls and messages for the last 10 days. He was constantly waiting for her to enter her room with evil intentions.

According to the victim, 18 May 2026 On the night of 2017, accused Shubham Dwivedi, after drinking a heavy amount of alcohol, reached outside her room and started forcibly banging the door.

When even this did not satisfy him, he picked up a knife from the kitchen and tried to commit a fatal attack, in which the other student and her sister suffered serious injuries. Hearing the screams, the mother of the accused also reached the spot.
Threatened to kill even in front of police
The victim somehow called her cousin and informed the police on dial-112. The audacity of the eccentric accused was so much that even in front of the police team, he tried to attack the girl students with broken glass. He openly threatened to kill the victims and make them disappear from the road in the presence of the police.
The accused got bail from the court
Shivkuti police station in-charge Virendra Singh Yadav said that considering the seriousness of the incident, an FIR was registered against the accused Shubham Dwivedi under relevant sections on the basis of the complaint of the victim student. The police showed promptness and arrested the accused from the spot, but later the accused got bail as per the court process. Police officials say that a thorough investigation of the case is going on and strict legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected from the spot.
