
Bengaluru : Police have launched a massive campaign against the manufacture and sale of fake branded clothes in the capital Bangalore. Fake branded jeans worth more than Rs 30 lakh were seized in a raid conducted in Baylaconaanhalli under the boundary of Madanayakanhalli police station.
In recent times, the number of “branded” clothes sold at cheap prices in the streets and small shops of Bengaluru has increased. Such advertisements are attracting people on social media. Details of raids: Police has detected a factory making fake branded jeans at Baylaconanehalli under the jurisdiction of Madanikanhalli police station. The factory was selling and selling jeans without a license, in which the people of the famous brand were copied. During the raid, fake jeans worth more than Rs 30 lakh were seized. The police have registered a case under copyright violation and investigation is on.
Two raids in a week have been conducted twice in Bengaluru last week. A similar fake branded clothing factory was raided in Siddhpur three days ago. Fake clothes worth lakhs of rupees were also seized here. These two incidents have exposed the broader nature of fake clothing business.
