An ambitious initiative has been taken to make women financially strong and self -reliant. Under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Swarozgar Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 10,000 will be provided to enable a woman from each family to enable them for self -employment.
The scheme will be launched on Friday, September 26 as per the rules scheduled. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend this program online. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be present as the chief guest. Under this initiative, 75 lakh women of the state will get a direct profit transfer (DBT) directly of ₹ 10,000 in their bank accounts. ₹ 7,500 crore will be distributed among these women.
Rural Development Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh has issued a letter to all District Magistrates (DM) for this event. In particular, instructions have been given to celebrate the event as a celebration at the cluster level and village organization level.
Along with making this historical occasion memorable and conveying to the public, the program to be organized at Bihar State Headquarters will be broadcast live to make women groups and community organizations aware. Programs will also be organized at the gram panchayat level, in which livelihood self -help groups (SHGs) will participate. So far, 11.166 million women from urban and rural areas have applied to get the benefit of the scheme.
What is the outline of the program?
- District level programs will be organized at all 38 district headquarters under the chairmanship of the District Magistrates. Apart from public representatives, at least 1,000 women associated with district level officers and self -help groups will participate in it.
- The program will be chaired by Block Development Officer (BDO) at all 534 block headquarters. Block level public representatives, officers and 500 women associated with self -help groups will participate in it.
- The program will also be held in all 1,680 cluster level livelihood associations. 200 women from cluster level livelihood groups will participate in it.
- The program will also be broadcast live in all 70,000 livelihood village organizations. 100 women from self -help groups will participate in it.
What is the purpose of the scheme?
This amount will help women start self -employment, establish small businesses or expand existing businesses. With the financial assistance provided under this scheme, women will be able to invest in agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, sewing, weaving and other small industries. By starting self -employment, women will become self -sufficient and their families will also be empowered. The main objective of this scheme is to provide equal benefits to women from rural and urban areas, especially financially weak classes.
Who can benefit from this scheme?
The benefit of this scheme will be available to the families with husband, wife and their unmarried children. Unmarried adult women whose parents are not alive are also eligible. The age of the applicant should be between 18 and 60 years. The applicant or her husband should not be an income tax payer. The applicant or her husband should not be in government service (regular or contract). All women associated with livelihood self -help groups are eligible for this scheme.
