A sudden fire broke out from the second floor of the hospital, which in a moment engulfed the ICU and Female Medicine Ward. The intensity of the fire and the rapidly spreading smoke did not even give a chance to about 55 patients and their families present there.

There was an outcry inside the hospital at the time of the incident. The smoke was filled all around, the screams of the patients and the nervousness of the family made the atmosphere more scary. In such a situation, doctors, nurses and other staff started the rescue operation regardless of life. About 250 patients were safely evacuated due to the understanding of hospital personnel and timber.

Death of a patient, the reason for the fire is believed by a short circuit

It was a matter of regret that Rajkumar Prajapati lost his life in this accident. Family members allege that oxygen supply stopped after the electricity was cut, due to which he died. According to the hospital administration, the possible reason for the fire is being considered as short circuit, although the investigation is still going on.

When the fire brigade reached the spot, the large fire engine could not go inside due to the narrow width of the main gate. Then the small size firefighters were sent inside from the other gate, but by then the fire had taken quite a terrible form.

Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister took information about the situation

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath immediately took cognizance of the incident and gave necessary instructions to the officials. The SDRF team was immediately engaged in relief and rescue work. Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak himself reached the hospital and took stock of the situation. He confirmed that all the patients have been evacuated and admitted to Civil, Balrampur, KGMU and Lohia hospitals.

The family of the deceased accused the hospital of serious negligence and said that his life was in danger as soon as the power was cut. The Deputy Chief Minister has assured that the treatment of all the shifted patients will be completely free, as was in Lokbandhu Hospital. Also, the hospital has been completely evacuated and investigation has been started.
