At present, the weather pattern of the country seems to be divided into two parts. On one hand, the monsoon has departed from the entire North India including Delhi-NCR and the rosy cold of morning and evening has set in, while on the other hand, the rainy season is still going on in many states of South and Central India. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a detailed weather forecast for the next few days.
Cold wave in Delhi-NCR and North India
There is news of relief for the people of Delhi-NCR. Monsoon has completely departed from here, due to which there is no possibility of rain now. The sky has started becoming clear and the humidity in the air has also reduced.
The biggest change is being seen in temperature. Even though there is mild sunshine during the day, the minimum temperature is falling in the morning and night, due to which people have started feeling mild cold i.e. ‘pink cold’. People now have to take out light bedsheets and full sleeve clothes from the wardrobe. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature will drop further in the coming days.
Rainy season will continue in these states
In sharp contrast to North India, the rains have not stopped in many central and southern states. Due to a new system formed in the Bay of Bengal, these states will see rain activities for the next 2-3 days.
IMD has issued rain alert for these states:
- Maharashtra: There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in many areas.
- Madhya Pradesh: There may be rain with thunder in some districts.
- Jharkhand: Rain is expected in some parts of the state.
- Odisha: Rain activities will continue here also.
- Telangana: Light rain may occur at some places.
People living in these states may have to face humidity and rain for a few more days. Overall, in one part of the country people are welcoming the cold, while in the other part people are still in need of umbrellas.
