Our Metro, the lifeline of Delhi, is now going to take another big step forward, making your journey more comfortable and faster than ever. DMRC is building a new hi-tech corridor, and it’s turning out so awesome that it’s won a major national award even before its completion!
Let us know how this new corridor is going to change your life.
The country will get its first ‘Gol’ metro line!
This is the biggest and most exciting news! The Maujpur-Majlis Park corridor that DMRC is working on is an extension of the existing Pink Line. As soon as it is completed, Delhi will get the country’s first ‘Circular Ring Metro’ line.
This means that you will be able to move around the entire Delhi sitting in a single line, just like the vehicles move on the Ring Road. With this, Delhi’s connectivity will reach a new level.
Made it so strong that it got an award
This corridor is being constructed in such an excellent manner that it has been decided to give it the most prestigious award for the year 2025 by the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI). This award is proof that full attention is being paid to strength, safety and quality in the construction of this line.
DMRC has used a special prestressed concrete technology in this, through which long bridges and pillars are made which can easily withstand natural disasters.
What benefit will you get?
- Better connectivity: The densely populated areas of North-East Delhi, which till now felt a bit cut off, will now be directly connected to the metro network.
- Less traffic: Lakhs of people will leave their cars and travel by metro, which will reduce traffic jams on the roads.
- Time Saving: Getting from one place to another will be easier and faster than ever.
Metro network will be 450 KM
At present the network of Delhi Metro is more than 390 kilometers. After the completion of the fourth phase, it will be more than 450 kilometers long. Maujpur-Majlis Park corridor is an important part of this fourth phase and its work is going on at a fast pace.
This award is not just a victory for DMRC, but it is a matter of pride for every Delhiite, as our Metro is continuously becoming better and safer.
