Mumbai – The palanquin journey from Pandharpur is now going to cross the seven seas. Originally a resident of Ahilyanagar, but currently living in London, Anil Khedkar and his palanquin team are taking Paduka of Vitthal lover from Pandharpur to London. This Paduka was worshiped on 14 April at the Pandharpur temple. The palanquin is expected to reach London on 21 June after traveling 18,000 km via 22 countries.
When Anil Khedkar was in India, he traveled from Anandi to Pandharpur. Based on this, Khedkar and his associates decided to establish a Vitthal temple in London and to take Paduka to be established by taking Palaki procession according to the Varkari sect.
While traveling from Pandharpur to London, the legal recognition of various countries and the process of obtaining their permits, passes etc. was going on for six months. For this, all permissions of four -wheelers have been obtained from 22 countries. Marathi circles of America, Europe, ISKCON, Akshardham and various temples have also given good support in this work. After duly worshiping at the Vitthal temple on 14 April, this unique Paduka Yatra left for London with the sound of Tal-Mridang and Jayghosh of Harinam. The palanquin journey will end in London on 21 June. Khedkar also has the idea of making Pandharpur there.
