It can be seen that government employees get pension after retirement. It is common for central government employees to provide documents to get pension. But life certificate is one of the many documents that you have to provide to get pension.

Life certificate is the certificate of your being alive. Currently, you have to submit this certificate every year to the concerned bank or post office. If you submit this type of certificate, your pension will be terminated. Therefore, this time it is mandatory to submit this certificate by 30th November.

More than 1 crore families in India are covered under the Central Pension Scheme. Pensioners have to appear in person before the Pension Disbursing Officer. At present, the government has implemented Life Certificate (DLC). Due to this, there is no need for the person to personally appear before the officer. Thus, all these problems have been solved through digital certificates.

What is Jeevan Pramaan Digital Letter? How to get it?

Life certificate is a biometric based digital certificate based on Aadhaar card. It will be processed automatically by the pension disbursing agency. It will also have a unique identification number, which will be different from other cards like Aadhaar card.

The Central Government itself has made arrangements for renewal of this certificate through its departmental pension distribution. You can get it through various Jeevan Praman centers run by banks, government offices or by visiting the official website.

Life certificate can be submitted online. Digital Life Certificate can be submitted from the comfort of home using Aadhaar-based biometric authentication. To submit the life certificate, very senior pensioners aged 80 years and above can submit their certificate from 1st October every year.
Pensioners below 80 years of age will have to wait till November 1 to submit their certificates. This will be the last date of 30th November. It is mandatory for pensioners every year.

Why was this rule implemented?

Earlier, due to lack of digital acceptance, all pension services were provided through documents. Many such cases had come to light where a pensioner died and pension was availed illegally in his name. This digital certificate scheme was implemented with the aim of preventing misuse of this pension system. If a person does not submit his survival certificate, he will be denied pension facility. This is very convenient for those who are currently receiving pension from the Central Government.
