Ranchi, May 11 (HS). International Plant Health Day was organized at Bethesda Girls High School by the Central Integrated Pest Management Centre, Ranchi, under the auspices of the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Collection under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on Saturday.
On this occasion, the basic theme of this year was discussed in detail among the girl students of class IX and class X. Understanding the importance of plant health, center in-charge Preeti Kumari inspired the students to play their role in Save Trees, Save Earth. An exhibition of IPM methods was also organized by the Centre. Priyanka Saha Malakar informed the students about various predatory insects. Pyari Sanga organized a quiz competition among the girl students.
Junior Plant Protection Officer, Ranchi threw light on the residues of pesticides on the spot. School Principal Sheetal Tiru said that such programs create awareness among children and help in building a better society.
