New Routine for Bank Employees: Only 5 days of duty a week, but these rules will be changed for customers

News India Live, Digital Desk: New Routine for Bank Employees: If you too often reach the branch for bank work on Saturday, then this news is going to bring a big change for you, especially if it is fully implemented! A historical change in the Indian banking sector has intensified: Now all bank employees in the country will have to work only five days a week, that is, it will be every Saturday and Sunday holiday for them.

This big news has come at a time when bank staff organizations were demanding their ‘weekend off’ for a long time. Now the Indian Banks Association – IBA has agreed to this in association with Employee Unions (United Forum of Bank Unions – UFBU). If its final approval is received from the Finance Ministry, then the balance between work and personal life for about 8 lakh bank employees across the country will now become easier than ever. Till now, banks were closed only on the second and fourth Saturdays.

But, what will happen to customers?

It is natural that due to every Saturday-Sunday holiday in the bank, the common customers may have some inconvenience, who have the habit of getting their banking work done only in the physical branch. They will now have to make their banking ‘smart’. After this new rule:

  • Focus on online and digital banking: Customers will have to depend on digital mediums like net banking, mobile banking apps, UPI and ATM for most transactions, bill payments, fund transfer etc.

  • Planning necessary: Customers will now have to plan within five working days for big tasks or those transactions in which it is mandatory to visit the bank branch.

This change is considered to be a move to bring the Indian banking system closer to global norms. Also, this bank will also bring positive changes in the lifestyle of employees, they will get more time to spend them with family and fulfill their hobbies. Now the bus is waiting for the official notification from the Finance Ministry, after which this new ‘five-day work week’ will become a truth in the country’s banking system. So, be ready for this big change, where both technology and comfort will move forward with hand!
