News India Live, Digital Desk: A news has come for the common people of Jharkhand, which can write a new chapter in the history of government functioning. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has announced that a new law will soon be made in the state, under which government officials will personally visit people’s homes to provide them the benefits of government schemes. Now any poor, farmer, woman or elderly person will not have to dig in government offices to get their rights, rather the ‘government’ itself will knock at their door.
Hemant Soren made this historic announcement during a function of “Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar” program. He said that this program will no longer be just a camp for a few days, but it will be given a permanent legal shape, so that this system will be implemented forever.
Why was this law needed?
Expressing the pain of the common man in his speech, the Chief Minister said, “Earlier our mothers, sisters, our elders and farmer brothers used to get tired of visiting the blocks and offices for pension, ration card or any other scheme. Their slippers used to get worn out, but no work was done. Middlemen and brokers were flourishing in this system. We have decided to change this entire system.”
He said that the immense success of the “Sarkar Aapke Dwar” program has proved that if the intentions of the government are clear, then the benefits of the schemes can be delivered directly to the needy without any hassle. In view of this success, it is now being given the form of a permanent law, so that no future government can change this people-friendly system.
Now there will be no ‘bureaucracy’, ‘people’s rule’
Hemant Soren warned in clear words that after the enactment of this law, accountability of the officers will be fixed. They will have to go from village to village and door to door to ensure that no eligible person is deprived of the benefits of government schemes.
The common man will get these big benefits from this law:
- You will get the benefits of the schemes sitting at home: The benefits of all the major schemes like old age pension, widow pension, ration card and ‘Abua Awas Yojana’ (housing scheme of Jharkhand government) will be given to the people at their homes.
- The game of middlemen and brokers is over: When all the work will be done at home, the network of middlemen roaming outside government offices will automatically break.
- Saving both time and money: Villagers will no longer have to waste their precious time and hard-earned money in commuting to offices.
- Direct Accountability of Officials: After the law is made, if any officer shows reluctance in his work, it will be easy to take direct action against him.
The Chief Minister also reminded that his government has increased the old age pension from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 per month and reduced its eligibility age from 60 years to 50 years, so that more and more needy people can get dignified support on time.
This decision can prove to be a game-changer for millions of people living in remote villages of Jharkhand, who till now have been fighting the system for their rights.
