What are the major benefits of this new law?

1. Now no verbal agreement, only written agreement will work
The biggest change is that now everything between the landlord and the tenant will be in writing. Any verbal promise will have no value. It will be mandatory for every tenancy to make a rent agreement, so that no one will be able to go back on their word later.

2. End the arbitrariness of security deposit!
This is the biggest relief for the tenants. Now landlords will not be able to charge arbitrary security in lieu of house rent.

3. Now the fare will not increase whenever you want
According to the new rule, landlords will no longer be able to increase the rent whenever they want during the year. 4. Threat of ‘vacate the house’ will not work
Landlords will no longer be able to evict tenants from the house without any solid reason. If the tenant does not pay rent for two months or causes damage to the property, only then will he be asked to vacate the house. The fear of having to vacate the house on small issues will now end.

5. Special ‘court’ created to settle disputes
One in every district to resolve any dispute between landlord and tenant. ‘Rent Authority’ Will be made. Now people will not have to go to court for years for small matters. This authority will settle the case within 60 days.
