Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that now Dibrugarh will also be made the capital of Assam. Presently Dispur is the capital of Assam. Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh also has two capitals. The capital of Himachal is Shimla, but Dharamshala has been made the winter capital. That means this hill state also has two capitals. The reason for creating two capitals was that Shimla receives heavy snowfall during winter and the roads get blocked. That is why Dharamshala has been made the capital in the meantime.

Uttarakhand

Like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand is also a hill state with two capitals. The first capital is Dehradun and the temporary capital is Gersen. Gerson was given the status of a second capital after a long demand to develop a capital city in the mountainous region.

Maharashtra

The capital of Maharashtra is Mumbai which is known as Mayanagari. Apart from Mumbai, there is another capital in Maharashtra which has been made the winter capital. The second capital of Maharashtra is Nagpur.

Ladakh

After the removal of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were made Union Territories. Later two capitals of Ladakh were created. The first capital is located in Leh and the second in Kargil.

Apart from these states, Karnataka is also considered to have two capitals, the first capital is Bengaluru and the second capital is called Belagavi.
