News India Live, Digital Desk: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a big and emotional assurance to the people of the state, especially the parents, regarding health services. Addressing a public meeting in Gorakhpur, CM Yogi said that now the era has passed when poor families had to sell their land or jewelery for the treatment of their children. The Chief Minister proudly announced that Uttar Pradesh has almost completely conquered the deadly disease ‘encephalitis’ and now no child will die due to lack of treatment.
Encephalitis became ‘stigma’ now in the pages of history
Taking aim at the old governments, the Chief Minister said that for decades encephalitis remained like a ‘stigma’ in eastern Uttar Pradesh, due to which thousands of innocent people died every year. But due to the ‘Dastak Abhiyaan’ launched in the last few years and better cleanliness system (Swachh Bharat), its cases have now reduced to negligible. The CM stressed that due to the strong will of the government and the promptness of the health department, success has been achieved in stopping this ‘wreak of death’.
Free and quality treatment for every poor
Appealing to parents, Yogi Adityanath said, “Now there is no need to reach out to moneylenders for the treatment of any disease.” Referring to Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana, he said that the government is ensuring free treatment up to ₹ 5 lakh. With the strengthening of AIIMS and medical colleges in Gorakhpur and surrounding districts, modern health facilities are now reaching every village.
Awareness is the biggest defense
CM Yogi appealed to the parents to be conscious about the health of their children. He said that many major diseases can be stopped at the doorstep through cleanliness, pure drinking water and vaccination. Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) has been established in every district by the government, so that children can get immediate treatment in case of emergency. The Chief Minister also gave strict instructions to the officials that no patient coming to the hospitals should complain of lack of medicine or doctor.
