News India Live, Digital Desk: The traffic police have made strict arrangements to control the crowd in the city during festivals and to provide safe passage to the processions. Special restrictions have been imposed in Ranchi’s Albert Ekka Chowk, Main Road and areas around Eidgahs.
1. Traffic Diversion on Eid day (Eid-ul-Fitr Plan)
Entry of vehicles will be prohibited near the main Eidgahs during Eid Namaz:
Main Road and Kadru Eidgah: At the time of morning namaz, vehicles going from Doranda to Kadru and from Sujata Chowk towards Ratan Talkies will be diverted.
Upper Bazaar and Ratu Road: Entry of heavy vehicles will remain closed from 7 am till the end of Namaz on all the streets and main roads leading to Idgah Chowk.
2. Route diversion for Sarhul procession (Sarhul Festival)
On the day of Sarhul, grand processions take place on the streets of Ranchi, for which the administration has made the following changes:
Albert Ekka Chowk: No vehicle of any kind will be allowed from Kachari Chowk towards Albert Ekka Chowk.
Ratu Road to Main Road: Vehicles coming from Ratu Road will be stopped near Naga Baba Khatal or will be diverted towards Radium Road.
Sujata Chowk: Vehicles coming from Namkum and Doranda will be diverted towards Munda Chowk or Bahu Bazar.
3. ‘No entry’ time for heavy vehicles (Trucks & Buses)
Entering the city: Entry of heavy vehicles (trucks) within Ranchi city will be completely prohibited from 6 am to 11 pm.
Interstate Buses: Alternative routes have been fixed for buses heading towards Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh and Gumla so that they can avoid the main traffic jam points of the city.
4. Special space for parking
In view of the crowd, the district administration has also identified temporary parking spots:
Zakir Hussain Park: For two-wheelers coming from the court.
Near Sainik Market: For vehicles coming from Sujata Chowk.
District School Ground: To reduce the congestion on the main road, parking arrangements have been made here also.
