News India Live, Digital Desk: After the arrest of Hassam Ahmed, who was roaming around as a resident doctor in the King George Medical University (KGMU) of the capital Lucknow for the last three years, shocking revelations are being made one after the other. The investigation by police and intelligence agencies has revealed the international connections of this ‘Munnabhai’. Hassam was not only extorting money from patients, but he was conspiring to become part of a big syndicate of conversion by ensnaring medical students on the pretext of training them in Delhi and abroad.
MBBS students were on the radar: AIIMS Delhi’s fake letter game
Investigation revealed that 12th pass Hassam Ahmed had prepared fake letterpads and stamps of KGMU spokesperson and dean. He had deceived many MBBS students of 2023 batch that an international conference was going to be held at Delhi AIIMS (AIIMS) on April 29, in which doctors from America would participate. Hassam was preparing to take these girl students to Delhi on this pretext and brainwash them. When the KGMU administration searched the mobile data, suspicious chats with girl students alerted the security agencies.
Trap of conversion in the name of ‘Cardio Seva Sansthan’?
Hassam Ahmed had formed a fake NGO named ‘Cardio Seva Sansthan’. Through this institute, he used to organize medical camps in Muslim dominated areas and used to take KGMU girl students there. Police suspect that fundamentalist ideology was being promoted under the guise of these camps. The photo of senior doctors of KGMU was posted on Hassam’s WhatsApp DP, so that he could win the trust of the girl students. The investigating agencies are now investigating from where this syndicate was getting funding and whether foreign hands are involved in it.
Big breach in KGMU’s security cordon: Was dodging for 3 years
Hussam Ahmed is not a new player; He roamed freely in cardiology and other departments of KGMU for the last three years. He always walked around wearing a white coat and a stethoscope around his neck, so that no one got suspicious. He not only robbed the patients but also penetrated the internal network of the university. The police are now preparing a list of the real doctors and staff who were in contact with Hussam and were helping him unknowingly or knowingly.
