According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Mumbai, a red alert has been issued for a three -hour period for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad. Alert warns of thunder, electricity and strong rain with strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kmph.
Earlier, IMD had predicted rains with thunderstorms with lightning at different places in North Konkan and South Central Maharashtra districts, heavy to heavy rains and strong winds.
