New Delhi: The tragic incident took place when a speeding SUV driven by a teenage boy hit a 24-year-old milk delivery man in Goregaon, killing him, police said.
The incident took place at around 4 am in Aarey Colony, when one of the deceased was distributing milk in the early hours of Thursday.
A police official said that a man named Naveen Vaishnav died when a Mahindra Scorpio coming from the wrong direction collided with his two-wheeler.
Police said the accused driver was 17 years old, so a case was also registered against the vehicle owner Iqbal Jiwani (48) and his son Mohammed Faz Iqbal Jiwani (21).
The SUV rammed into an electric pole after hitting the two-wheeler. The teen driver tried to flee but was nabbed by the police after he sustained injuries.
His blood samples have been sent to the laboratory to ascertain whether he was under the influence of alcohol, the official said.
Police are also investigating whether the accused had partied with his friends before the accident.
