Why does this alcohol become deadly?
Initial investigation and forensic inputs have revealed that this illicit liquor Methanol Was mixed. Methanol is a highly poisonous and chemical element, which is used only in factories or industrial work. But in order to earn more profit, the mafia making illegal and raw liquor mixes it with normal liquor, which directly acts as a slow poison for the human body.
Since the odor and color of ethanol (common alcohol) and methanol are almost identical, it is generally very difficult to identify them by sight or smell.
Symptoms of alcohol poisoning: from onset to severity
If a person has unknowingly consumed adulterated or poisonous liquor, its symptoms appear very rapidly on his body. To understand this see the table given below:
| stages of symptoms | Main effects visible on the body |
| early symptoms | Uncomfortable and severe headache, extreme dizziness, nausea and continuous vomiting. |
| severe symptoms | Complete blurring of vision or blindness, severe stomach cramps and pain. |
| critical condition | Extreme difficulty in breathing, suffocation, turning blue of the body and ultimately the patient going into coma or death. |
Prevention and caution: Keep these things in mind
-
Trust licensed shops: Do not consume raw or country liquor (Hooch) sold locally without any government hologram, label or barcode. Always buy certified products only from shops authorized by the government and recognized by the Excise Department.
-
Be alert if you smell chemical: If the alcohol smells like paint thinner, nail polish remover, or has a very bitter or pungent chemical odor, it may be completely adulterated. Throw away such alcohol immediately.
-
Reach the hospital on time: If any person’s health deteriorates after drinking alcohol, he sees blurred vision or has severe stomach pain, then without wasting a minute, immediately take him to the nearest big hospital (where there is ICU facility). In cases of alcohol poisoning, the first 2 to 4 hours are considered the most important (golden hour) to save the life of the patient.
