Modern bus stands will be built in small cities

The Rajasthan government has taken an important step towards improving traffic facilities in rural areas. 19 old bus stands are being developed in a new form in the state. The objective of this initiative is to strengthen local connectivity, provide better facilities to passengers and promote economic activities. Now bus stations with modern facilities will also be seen in small towns and towns.

Bus stand construction process intensified

The Rajasthan Roadways administration has accelerated the process of construction and renewal of bus stations. At present, repair and development work has started at 28 places. Till now it has been believed that bus stands are made only for big cities or district headquarters, but now this notion is being changed.

Even in small towns, passengers will be provided facilities like comfortable seating space, clean toilets, food shops and outlets for shopping. These bus stations are being constructed on the BOT (built-operate-transfer) model, which will make these shopping malls free.

Provision made in budget also

The state government has made a special amount in the budget for purchasing new buses, developing bus stands and repairing the workshop. Although some towns also have challenges due to lack of land near Roadways, the administration is working fast to provide land in these areas.

• Khivansar (Nagaur) – ₹ 1.65 crore

Rural areas will get direct benefit

Under this project, the number of roadways buses in rural areas will be increased, which will provide better options for people to traffic. This step will not only increase the convenience of passengers, but will also promote local development and employment opportunities. The number of buses in the roadways fleet is also expected to increase significantly.

This scheme is a positive effort to give small towns of Rajasthan a prominent place on transport map.
