The heat has become fierce in Uttar Pradesh. Due to the activation of hot westerly winds in the entire state, the weather has become completely dry, due to which radiative heating is increasing rapidly. The situation is such that in 21 major cities of the state the mercury has crossed 40 degrees Celsius.

In view of the seriousness of the situation, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Red Alert for the southern part of Uttar Pradesh and Orange Alert for most parts of the state. Along with this, it has been diplomatically advised to stay at home in the afternoon for the next few days.

Strict alert of ‘Warm Night’ in Western UP

Along with the scorching heat of the day, the nights of Uttar Pradesh have also started scorching. Meteorological Department in many districts of Western UP ‘Warm Night’ Alert has been issued.

Affected districts: Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Agra and Firozabad.

What is the reason: The minimum night temperature in these areas is below normal. 3 to 5 degrees Celsius higher This is going on, due to which people are not getting any respite from humidity and heat even after the sun sets.

This rise in mercury in Meerut, which is battling the scorching heat, is historic. Temperature of Meerut in the history of 74 years from 1951 to 2025 crossed 45 degrees Celsius six times Has gone. Banda, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi and its surrounding areas.

2. Orange Alert (Severe heat wave area – Orange Warning)

There is severe heat here too and people have been asked to remain alert:

Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi), Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Ballia, Kanpur Nagar-Dehat, Rae Bareli, Auraiya and Lalitpur.

Heat waves will blow at a speed of 40 km/hour

According to meteorologists, at present hot and dry westerly winds (loo) are blowing across Uttar Pradesh at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour.
