Dhamtari, 29 August (HS). National Deworming Day was inaugurated today on Thursday by Mayor Vijay Dewangan by feeding deworming medicine Albendazole to children. Local public representatives, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. UL Kaushik, school students were present in this program organized at the local Dhamtari Public School.
It is noteworthy that in all the Anganwadi centres, schools etc. of the district, targeted 3 lakh 13 thousand 371 children up to 19 years of age will be given medicine. For better participation and publicity of the public in this programme, e-rickshaws were flagged off in the presence of Mayor Shri Devangan and councillors.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kaushik told that, worms come in the external environment by defecating in the open and these worms develop inside the body by walking barefoot, using polluted hands and eating undercooked meat, which use the nutrients of the body for their growth. This causes lack of nutrients in our body, which leads to malnutrition and many other diseases. Therefore, we should use the toilet, do not walk barefoot, always keep food covered, always drink clean water, do not grow nails and wash hands before eating and after defecation. He appealed to the children and parents to make sure that they feed the children Albendazole tablets. Let us tell you that the children who missed the medicine will be given the medicine again on September 4, so that their health and nutrition level, prevention of anemia, intellectual development and attendance in school can improve.
