Major Blow to Rail Passengers Heading to Gorakhpur: Several Express Trains Will Not Reach the Junction Until June 8. Major Blow to Rail Passengers Heading to Gorakhpur, Many Express Trains Will Not Reach the Junction Until June 8

There is a very important and disturbing news amidst the scorching heat for the railway passengers traveling towards Gorakhpur and Purvanchal. If you are planning to come to Gorakhpur Junction or go from there in the next few days, then definitely check the status of your train. A major traffic block is being taken by Railways for the construction work of new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) on Platform No. 7 and 8 at Gorakhpur Junction. Due to this mega block, many major trains will not go to Gorakhpur Junction for the next few days. Keeping in mind the convenience and safety of passengers, Railways has decided to ‘short terminate’ (stop en route) and ‘short originate’ (run from another station) many trains. People returning home with family during summer holidays may face some inconvenience due to this decision.

These trains will not go to Gorakhpur on these dates: Travel only till Cantt, Bhatni and Mau

Passengers suffering due to lateness of trains in scorching heat: Gondia-Barauni late by 13 hours

On one hand, route diversions and short terminations have increased the concern of passengers, on the other hand, due to ongoing operational works and rescheduling on various railway sections, severe delays in trains also continue. In the scorching heat, the journey of passengers is becoming very difficult due to trains running late for hours. The Gondia-Barauni Express passing through Cantt Railway Station was running late by a record 13 hours from its scheduled time, which became a huge problem for the passengers.

Apart from this, the condition of delay of other major trains was like this:

  • Chandigarh-Dhanbad Fair Special – 9.15 hours late

  • Anand Vihar Terminal-Danapur Jansadharan Express – 6 hours late

  • Amritsar-Howrah Punjab Mail – 4 hours late

  • Dhanbad-Delhi Fair Special – 3.45 hours late

  • Dadar Central-Ballia Special – 3.15 hours late

Lichchavi Express stood on track for 3 hours due to vacuum pressure fault

Amidst the delay in trains, technical glitches also tested the passengers. Suddenly there was a disturbance in the vacuum pressure (low pressure) in the S-1 coach of Lichchavi Express (Train No. 14006) going from Anand Vihar Terminal to Sitamarhi. Due to this technical fault, the train remained standing between Kachwan Road and Cantt station for about three hours. After standing at Kachwan Road station for more than two hours, the employees of the Mechanical Department and Carriage and Wagon Department of North Eastern Railway reached the spot and resolved the problem of bogie pressure, after which the train could be sent forward.
