Bhopal, 29 August (HS). Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the players of Madhya Pradesh have made the state proud by performing well at the international level. The players have brought glory to the state by winning medals in the Olympics and Asian Games at the national and international level. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, while congratulating all the players on National Sports Day on Thursday, said that to improve the skills of the players, 11 sports academies of 18 sports have been established along with international and national sports infrastructure, training with modern scientific methods, sports equipment and training abroad.

For the first time, 10 players of Madhya Pradesh Sports Academy represented the country in Tokyo Olympics-2020, Japan. Mr. Vivek Prasad Sagar and Mr. Neelakant Sharma were members of the bronze medal winning Indian hockey team. In the recently held Paris Olympics, Vivek Prasad Sagar of hockey, Aishwarya Pratap Singh of shooting and Kapil Parmar of judo, Prachi Yadav and Pooja Ojha of canoe are participating from the state in the Para Olympic Games. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has awarded hockey player Vivek Sagar with an incentive amount of Rs one crore for winning the bronze medal by performing excellently in the Paris Olympics.
Won 14 medals in Asian Games
In the 19th Asian Games-2023 held in Hangzhou, China, the players of the state performed historically by winning 6 gold, 5 silver, 3 bronze, a total of 14 medals. Aishwarya Pratap Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, Sudipti Hajela, Vivek Prasad Sagar, Aavesh Khan brought laurels to the state. A world record was also made by Aishwarya Pratap Singh, a player of Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy, in the Asian Games. Similarly, in the Para-Asian Games, Prachi Yadav, Manish Kaurav and Rubina Francis of the state brought laurels to the state and the country.
Promotion of sports tourism
To increase sports tourism in the state and make the state a sports hub, an international sports complex is being constructed in Nathubarkheda Bhopal in two phases. Rs 985 crore 76 lakh has been set aside for this. In the first phase, international level athletic, football and hockey stadiums and in the second phase, multipurpose indoor sports complex, all-weather swimming pool and other outdoor play-fields are being constructed. An international level sports science center will also be established in the sports complex. In the third phase, an international level cricket stadium will also be constructed.
International level sports infrastructure
18 international level hockey turfs have been constructed in the state. Work on 9 turfs will be completed this year. 7 international level synthetic athletics tracks have been constructed in the state. 5 synthetic athletics tracks are under construction, which will be completed this year. Sports complexes will be constructed in every development block of the state. At present, 111 stadiums/sports training centers of the Sports Department have been constructed and 56 sports stadiums/training centers are under construction.
Achievements at national and international level
In the last financial year, the players of the sports academies operating in these academies have made the country and the state proud by winning 37 gold, 18 silver, 15 bronze medals, a total of 70 medals and representing the country through 68 players. The players of the sports academy have won 267 gold, 206 silver and 217 bronze medals at the national level, making a total of 690 medals. In the future, under the Trainer Development Scheme, talented trainers and such international and national players who want to make a career as sports trainers will be sent for studies in the country and abroad.

Sports quota has been fixed in Madhya Pradesh Police. Every year 10 sub-inspectors and 50 constables will be appointed in it. Chief Minister Sports Infrastructure Development Scheme is proposed for the construction of indoor halls in each assembly constituency under phased sports infrastructure. It is proposed to establish Break Dance Academy and E-Sports Academy. Players of the state are being sent abroad for international level training and foreign coaches are also being invited.
Discover new tourist destinations along international borders
In the last financial year, 1100 youths of the state were taken on an experiential tour of the country's international borders, Wagah Border, Hussainiwala-Punjab, Tanot Mata Ka Mandir-Longewal, Rajasthan, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, through Maa Tujhe Pranam Yojana. To make Maa Tujhe Pranam Yojana more effective and attractive, the youth will be taken on a tour of new tourist places along with international borders. A PMU cell will be formed for construction of sports infrastructure in the state under the Public Private Partnership Scheme and for implementation/promotion of sports competitions and sports activities through CSR.
Training to 19 thousand 810 trainees
Various employment oriented training programs are being conducted through VLCC, ICICI, Eicher, Volvo and Indusind Bank. Apart from this, the department is also running recruitment training centers for police, army etc. Employment has been provided to 19 thousand 810 trainees by training them through 6 skill academies through the employment oriented training program run by the department.

It is noteworthy that National Sports Day is an annual festival celebrated every year on 29 August in honor of India's renowned hockey player Major Dhyan Chand.
