UK Lottery Cat Main Story: It is often said in India that it is impossible to predict when fate will make someone a king and when it will take away everything in an instant. A very shocking incident that came to light from South Wales, Britain has proved this saying to be 100 percent true. Such an accident happened to 46 year old Cath Main, who lives here, which she had never imagined even in her dreams. She was about to become the owner of Rs 150 crore in one go, but due to a small human mistake she did not get even a penny.
According to a report in the famous British newspaper ‘The Sun’, Kath had played lottery continuously for the last 20 years by relying on the same number. In the lucky draw held on June 6, their same numbers finally won and won the bumper jackpot of around 12 million pounds i.e. around Rs 150 crore. But just before he got the news of his grand victory, his real Crorepati ticket had been thrown into the dustbin.
20 year old magical numbers changed fortunes overnight
Cath Main, a resident of Abercynan area of South Wales, is a treasurer of a rugby club by profession. She had been buying lottery tickets with the help of her mother Fiona for the last two decades. Kath told that she always trusted the same six fixed numbers and tried her luck with the same numbers every time.
When no winner claimed such a huge jackpot amount for several days after the June 6 lottery draw, this news was covered in the media. When Kath saw this news, he thought why not match his regular numbers once.
All the numbers were exactly the same, but one mistake blew my mind.
As soon as Kath matched his numbers with the newspaper, the ground slipped beneath his feet. All six lottery numbers were exactly the same ones that she had been buying for 20 years. Kath couldn’t believe that she had officially become a millionaire. He immediately happily called his mother Fiona and asked if she had bought a lottery ticket with his numbers on it that particular week. His mother replied yes. But immediately after this, what her mother told made Kath scream and her happiness turned into terrible worry in a moment.
Technical fault of the machine spoiled the game
Actually, after the draw was over, Kath’s mother Fiona went to a nearby local lottery shop with that ticket to find out whether any prize had been won or not. When the shop employee scanned that ticket in the machine, no alert or signal was received from the machine. Usually, when the winning ticket is scanned, a special beep or alert comes from the machine, but due to a technical fault, nothing like this happened at that time.
The employee told Fiona that there was no prize on this ticket. Fiona also wondered what was the point of keeping the ticket when it was vacant. He asked the shopkeeper to throw it in the dustbin. The employee put the ticket in the dustbin. By the time Cath learned of his win, all the shop’s trash had been cleaned up and taken to the city’s main dumping yard, and the historic ticket was gone forever.
Now legal investigation is going on for Rs 150 crore
Kath has contacted the headquarters of lottery operator company ‘Allwyn’ to prove her winning without the original ticket. Taking this unique matter seriously, the company has started an internal investigation. Kath claims that he has many digital records to prove his truth.
He has also submitted to the company the bank transaction receipt for purchasing the ticket and the CCTV footage of the cameras installed around the shop, in which his mother can be clearly seen going to that shop and getting the ticket checked. As per lottery company rules, even if the ticket is lost or destroyed, a claim can be considered within 30 days based on strong evidence.
The shopkeeper also expressed deep regret
Lottery shop owner Karan Kumar has also expressed deep sorrow over this incident. He told that at that time some maintenance work was going on inside the shop, due to which the cameras inside were switched off. He expressed apprehension that there might have been a temporary technical fault in the ticket scanning machine due to which tickets worth crores were rejected. Currently, Allwyn Company is examining all the digital forensic evidence and Kath will have to wait for a month for the final decision.
‘I am the unluckiest winner in the world’
Kath Main cried and expressed his pain and said, “This entire experience is no less than mental torture for me. I feel like the unluckiest winner in the world. A huge sum of Rs 150 crore is floating in front of my eyes, but to get it, I will now have to fight the whole world without a single piece of paper.” Kath told that if she gets this amount, her biggest dream is to go to New Zealand with her family for a holiday. Right now, she is just praying that her 20-year-old dream comes true.
