News India Live, Digital Desk: We all know that when a serious illness, like cancer or kidney failure, hits the house, the entire family falls apart. All the savings are spent on treatment and yet many times people lose their lives due to lack of money. In such difficult times, people often go to the Member of Parliament (MP) of their area with hope.

But, sometimes due to rules, MPs are not able to provide direct financial help even if they want to. Understanding this pain, in the winter session of Parliament BJP MP Ajay Pratap Singh Has raised a very emotional and important issue. Their demand is that the rules of MPLAD Fund should be changed.

Let us understand in simple language what he said and what will be the benefit to the general public if this demand is accepted.

“Give us the power to help.”
During the discussion in Rajya Sabha, Ajay Pratap Singh said that every MP should work for the development of his area. Rs 5 crore annually see you. It is called MPLADS. But it is mostly used in building roads, community buildings or schools.
BJP MP has demanded from the government that this fund 10% share (ie around Rs 50 lakh) It should be reserved for the treatment of patients suffering from incurable and serious diseases.

MP’s pain: “Feels bad while refusing”
He said a very practical thing. He said that there are schemes like “Ayushman Bharat”, there is also PM Relief Fund, but sometimes the cost of treatment is higher than these or the process takes time.
In such a situation, when a poor patient comes to our door with hope, due to rules we are not able to give him money from our funds. If this rule is changed, we can immediately help save someone’s life.

What answer did the government give?
Minister of State for Statistics and Program Implementation Rao Inderjit Singh responded positively to this demand. He agreed that this suggestion is very noble. He told that the government had made some changes in the rules in 2023 itself, but at present the provision of giving money directly for treatment is limited.

The Minister assured that he is taking note of this suggestion and will see how it can be implemented within the framework of the rules. However, he also said that the basic objective of MPLAD is ‘Assets Creation’, but there is no greater asset than a human life.

What will change for the public?
Friends, imagine what will happen if this rule is implemented?

  1. If you or someone you know is in dire need of money for treatment, you will be able to apply directly to your MP.
  2. MPs will be able to make payment to the hospital immediately from their quota.
  3. The time spent in paperwork in PM Fund will be saved here.
