In a serious case of misuse of government money, the Irrigation and Water Resources Department has ordered an FIR against an Executive Engineer posted in Siddharthnagar. Since this news, there has been a stir in the entire department.
The case is related to Executive Engineer Rakesh Kumar Singh. He is accused of ignoring the financial rules during his tenure and misused government money.
What is the whole matter?
According to the information, Executive Engineer Rakesh Kumar Singh is accused of serious financial irregularities during his deployment in Siddharthnagar from 13 April 2017 to 5 February 2024. The government says that they did not follow the rules set in the acceptance of projects and used government money arbitrarily.
The investigation found that the engineer spent money from the budget items from which he should not have done. He withdraws money from two different items, ‘maintenance and repair’ and ‘divine disaster’ and put on other projects. In this way, he created a liability of about Rs 15.67 crore, which was against the rules.
Governance took serious cognizance
When the matter came to the notice of the government, it was taken very seriously. Seeing such an open violation of the financial provisions, the government immediately decided to take strict steps. Siddha Sharan Pandey, Joint Secretary of the Government, has written a letter to the head of the department and directed to register an FIR against Executive Engineer Rakesh Kumar Singh with immediate effect.
Along with this, the government has also been sent to ensure that no laxity should be taken in the case.

As soon as this order reached the department, there was a stir. Now preparations have started to register an FIR and it is believed that legal action will be initiated against the engineer soon.
