New Labor Code 2025: The first major change has taken place in the industrial sector of the country. The new labor laws come into effect from today, November 21, 2025. The government has now provided legal protection to four new labor codes. These four labor codes of the government, Wage Code 2019, Industrial Relations Code 2020, Social Security Code 2020 and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code 2020, came into force in the country from yesterday. Through this, the government has amended 29 existing labor laws.

He expressed this on social media. ‘Shramev Jayate!’ Saying this, he said that these four labor codes have been implemented in the country. He said that this is one of the most comprehensive and progressive labor reforms since independence. This will protect the rights of the employees. They will be empowered. The Prime Minister said in this post that this will promote ‘Ease of Doing Business’.
What changes have taken place, what will be its consequences?
Appointment letter will be mandatory for all employees. For the first time, gig and associated employees, workers will get insurance under PF, ESIC and Labor Social Security. Minimum wage will be applicable to all sectors. Annual free health checkup will be mandatory for employees above 40 years of age. Also, the salary will also have to be paid on a fixed date.
Women allowed to work in night shifts
Women will now be able to work in night shifts in all areas. Women employees and workers will now be able to work in night shifts in various establishments and companies. Of course, the companies will be responsible for their security. All basic facilities will also have to be provided for them. Women have been given the freedom to choose their night shifts. Not only this, emphasis has also been laid on equal work and equal pay. The government is focusing on bringing gender equality in the workplace.
Although ESIC has been implemented across the country, Single Registration, Single License and Single Return will be implemented to reduce the burden of compliance.

Provisions have been made for safety, health and timely wages of workers in MSME, media, IT, mines and dock sectors. According to the new Labor Code, it has now been made mandatory for all IT companies in the country to pay salaries to employees by the 7th of the month. This will not put financial pressure on the employees. They will not have to wait hurriedly for their salary.
