The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) itself has given some easy ways that you can check this in minutes from your smartphone itself.

Let us know how you can find out whether your Aadhaar card is real or fake.

Method 1: Online Verification from UIDAI’s website

This is the most straightforward and easiest way.

  • step 1: First of all visit UIDAI’s official website (uidai.gov.in) on your phone or laptop.
  • Step 2: Go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ section on the website, here you will see the option of ‘Aadhaar Services’.
  • Step 3: Click on the option of ‘Verify an Aadhaar Number’ inside ‘Aadhaar Services’.
  • Step 4: Now a new page will open. Here you have to enter your 12 -digit Aadhaar number and the captcha code given.
  • Step 5: After this, click on ‘Proceed and Verify Aadhaar’.

How to know?
If your Aadhaar number is correct and real, then the status of your Aadhaar card on the screen will appear written ‘exists’ (exist). Along with this, some information like your age, gender and state will also be seen. If the base is fake, this data will not appear or the message of ‘Invalid Aadhaar Number’ will come.

Method 2: By scanning QR code from Maadhaar app

A QR code is printed on every Aadhaar card, in which your complete information is safe. You can also find out the truth by scanning it.

  • step 1: If your phone does not have the Maadhaar app, then download it from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  • Step 2: Open the app and choose the option of ‘QR Code Scanner’ given in it.
  • Step 3: Now scan the QR code made on your Aadhaar card (or its copy) with this scanner.

How to know?
As soon as you scan the QR code, if the Aadhaar is real, then your entire demographic information like name, photo, date of birth, gender and address will appear on your mobile screen. If the QR code does not scan or no information comes, it may be a sign of the base being fake.

By using these easy methods, you can verify not only your, but a person’s Aadhaar card, such as keeping a tenant or while hiring an employee. This small precaution can save you from great fraud in future.
