There are a lot of statements being made these days on the platform of global diplomacy. The latest case is related to India’s historical and priceless heritage Taj Mahal. In fact, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was visiting India, reached Agra with his wife and saw this unique symbol of love and also got a beautiful picture clicked while sitting in front of the main mausoleum. But Iran did not like this smiling photo of the Rubio couple and it has directly taken a sharp jibe at the American government regarding this photo. Iran says that if Marco Rubio had even an iota of knowledge about the real history of the Taj Mahal or its architecture, he would never have dared to stand here and get photographed.
Iranian Consulate in Hyderabad targets social media
The Iranian Consulate (Embassy) in Hyderabad wrote a very scathing post while sharing the Taj Mahal photo of Marco Rubio and his wife on its official social media handle. The Iranian Embassy wrote, “This historical monument was built by a great emperor out of immense love for his Iranian wife, which was sculpted by the amazing and unmatched talent of architects of Iranian origin. But today see the irony that their government (America) threatens to completely wipe out the same rich Iranian civilization and openly insults other ancient civilizations of the world.” As soon as this tweet from Iran came on the internet, a big debate broke out on social media regarding the pages of history and people started sharing the names of great architects like Ustad Ahmed Lahauri.
What is the real ‘Iran connection’ of Begum Mumtaz Mahal?
After this sharp sarcasm of Iran, now people have once again started investigating the history of Taj Mahal and Mumtaz Mahal. In fact, history is witness that Taj Mahal has a very deep and unbreakable relationship with Iran (whose ancient name was Persia). Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built this luxurious white marble building in memory of his favorite Begum, who originally belonged to a distinguished Iranian family. Mumtaz Mahal’s real name was ‘Arjumand Bano Begum’ and her entire family had migrated to India from Persia.
Taj Mahal is a wonderful confluence of Persian architecture and calligraphy.
According to historians, Taj Mahal is a unique and best blend of Indian and Persian architecture. The huge main dome and four minarets of the Taj, their design and engineering exactly matches the ancient Persian style buildings. Shah Jahan had taken the services of Isa Shirazi, a well-known expert from Iran, as the chief architect and chief designer of the Taj Mahal. Not only this, the very beautiful verses of the Holy Quran engraved on the walls of the Taj Mahal are the gift of the famous Persian scholar Amanat Khan Shirazi, who decorated it with his amazing calligraphy. Now after this latest attack by Iran, the discussion about the history of Taj Mahal is again in full swing at the international level.
